Why AI Should Replace Thinking: “Reject Intelligence, Embrace Modernity”

Article

As AI has developed over the past few years, we need to start considering how we are going to use it ethically. My suggestion would be to have it replace all thinking, even thinking as simple as deciding what you want to have for dinner. If a separate entity is willing to think for you, why should you waste your time doing so? Eventually, people should have no life purpose, sit on the couch all day, and doomscroll on TikTok until they can’t even focus on their family telling them about how their day went, which is, though, something we didn’t want to do in the first place (please just say “good” or “bad”).

The first type of thinking AI should replace is critical thinking. Have you ever seen someone actually use critical thinking? Probably not. It’s an ancient practice and something that has been out of use for at least a few centuries. The reason why is because it’s the hardest type of thought. That’s also why AI should do it for us; It can critically think a lot faster and easier than most humans. People say critical thinking is taught in college so if we have AI do the critical thinking instead then we won’t have to spend another four years of our life in school. We can go straight from high school to our parents’ couch without the four years in between.

The next and final step of the AI takeover is basic thinking. With critical thinking gone, we have to get rid of basic thought processes to completely relieve our brains from work. This step involves having ChatGPT choose what you’re having for dinner or what you should wear in the morning, basic thoughts that are too tiring on our human brains. We had one of our researchers try using ChatGPT to replace basic thinking for one week. By the last day, his mindset completely changed. He started talking more about the latest trends on TikTok rather than brainless topics such as “I personally like that movie.” Instead, he told us that he liked whatever movie was popular that week, adding on another reason why we need an AI brain takeover: people shouldn’t have unpopular opinions and spending more time on social media will stop those opinions from festering.

We polled three tech-billionaires in Silicon Valley on if AI should be spread to everyone in the world to replace thinking. They answered “Yes”. I don’t think I have to explain more; reject intelligence, embrace modernity.
